Eye Examinations

• Initial eye examinations are bulk billed to Medicare and take approximately 30 minutes.
• During the examination our Optometrist will check the health of your eyes and identify how we can help maximize your visual potential according to your work and lifestyle.
• We assess how well your eyes work together as a team, your eye movement and focusing skills, stamina for reading and computer related tasks as well as field of vision.
• We assess the health of your eyes screening for a range of eye conditions including: cataracts, glaucoma, macula degeneration, hypertension and diabetic eye disease. If we detect any concerns with the health of your eyes we have a network of dedicated health professionals that we refer to.
• Our practice utilizes retinal imaging for a complete health check of your eyes. These images enable us to monitor and detect any early stages of eye disease.
• Childrens Vision Assessments: as with your child’s development milestones, there is a timeline for normal visual development.
• We assess your child’s visual development and ensure that they have the necessary visual skills to enable them to function effectively in their environment, whether they are a preschooler, a primary age child or older. All children should have a vision assessment by the time they are 3yrs of age.
• Laser Correction Assessments: at an initial eye examination we can assess whether you are suitable for laser vision correction. If suitable we can refer you to an Ophthalmologist specializing in refractive surgery. Following the laser correction surgery "after care" is managed by our practice for convenience.
